Gluten Free Pure Rolled Porridge Oats

Gluten Free Porridge with Apple & Toasted Almonds
- 2 oz gluten free porridge oats
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 tsp honey
- 1/2 apple (sweeter dessert apples work best, but it's up to you!)
- Small handful of almonds
- Ground ginger and cinnamon
1.) Place a small saucepan on a high heat and add the oats, heating for about a minute.
2.) Add the milk, stir in and reduce the heat to a low simmer.
3.) Meanwhile, finely chop the almonds (or use pre-chopped ones) and add to a pan on a medium heat, toasting for a few minutes. Keep and eye on them as they can burn easily.
4.) Add the honey to porridge and stir well.
5.) Slice the apple and set aside.
6.) Stir the porridge regularly for approximately 5-6 more minutes until it has reduced to your desired consistency. Some like it runny however I do find the slower you heat and stir it the creamier and deeper the flavor.
7.) Pour in a small bowl, top with the sliced apple, toasted almonds and a sprinkle of cinnamon and ginger. Awesome!
