Ultimate Chia Power Smoothie
This smoothie has enough nutritional kick to cover pretty much everything your body needs for a workout or exercise session, or as a 'meal-in-a-glass' breakfast it will have you punching the sky and clicking your heels before you know it.
(Punching the sky and clicking your heels not legally guaranteed....) ;)
2 tbsp of chia seeds, soaked in a cup of water overnight
1/2 kiwi fruit
1 handful of fresh or frozen berries
1 handful of fresh or frozen spinach
1 head of broccoli (yes, broccoli... :P )
2 tbsp of whole natural yogurt
1 tbsp of ground linseeds
1 tsp of wheatgrass powder
1 flat scoop of whey protein powder
1 tsp of creatine powder
A generous sprinkling of ground cinnamon and ginger
A pinch of ground ginseng
1.) Add the soaked chia seeds including the water to your blender (you can soak them for 15 minutes beforehand if you haven't done them overnight) add the yogurt, and all of the fruit and vegetables.
2.) Next, add all the powdered/dry ingredients. Do these after the wetter ingredients or they will stick to the bottom of the blender. Add a touch more water if it seems too dry.
3.) Blend that sucker up good for 15-20 seconds, give it a stir and scrape any powdered ingredients that have stuck to the side and mix back in.
4.) Blend again for another 10 seconds or so on high, pour in a pint glass, and cane that rudeboi down!! Be careful however as you'll be prone to extreme explosions of energy for at least 1 hour afterwards. Stay away from sleeping cats and anyone else who doesn't want to be disturbed...... :D
Thanks for stopping by, happy shopping! (And eating!)
